Dear Bettina, I'm so sorry to hear about your mis-guided friend. Hopefully, he'll eventually get to the place in his Bible studies where it says that God has saved us by His grace, not because of our works, be that doing good things or going to church or reading the Bible or whatever. All that is required of us is to believe in Christ. In our hearts, no less, it is not the outword person that matters. The things you do for others out of your good heart are awesome!
