I firmly believe in God. But I don't go to church. I don't go because there are so many hypocrites. Plus people telling you that you are going to hell and judging you. When in fact who are we to judge? I think one of the last times I went to church was when there wasn't enough people there to count on one hand and the preacher looked at me and my ex husband and said we were sinners. Might be but I wanted to say well aren't you one as well for I saw your car going to a bar? But I didn't say anything, instead stopped going to any church.
I think your roommate needs to learn about religion. I don't ever recall it saying in the bible that you can go to hell for not going to church. I would read my bible (not saying you haven't) and pray to God. He is the only one I would trust.
